Holding Space
Homewood Studios, 2024

For the last two years I have been holding space for the nautiluses, the ‘little sailors’, which are considered to be “living fossils” because the family of mollusks have survived five planetary extinctions over their 480 – 500 million years of living here on earth. Now they appear on the endangered list primarily due to over fishing for their beautiful shells.
Earth’s flowers and fauna have inspired me throughout my life and career as an artist. I continue to marvel at the intricacies of pattern that can be found in the gardens, rivers, and skies of our home.
