holding space
It’s so easy to take space for granted. Us and everything around us is surrounded by space. We move through space, occupy space, breathe space. And, as opposites arise mutually, we create the space in which we live. This sacred space, all around you, because of you.
The pieces I have selected for this show are a segment of a much larger portfolio depicting "reimagined” or abstracted landscapes and trees that I captured during the past year. In each of them I attempt to express the correlation between the subject, space and time. I do this through the use of slow shutter speeds with intentional camera movement, multiple exposures and infrared capture techniques.
All of these images were made in-camera without the use of Photoshop techniques other than basic color and tonal corrections.
